Elegance of Spring - Part 3

.....continued from part 2

Monday, March 1 - Sunday, March 7

I haven’t had as much time to stitch as I would have preferred. The weather has been remarkably pleasant for this time of year, and I felt the need to be outdoors and soak it all in before the inevitable winter chill returns, as it often does here in western Canada. However, I did manage to re-stitch the section of the gown that I had to take out. The umbrella is now finished, and I've begun working on one of the poppies. I’m hopeful that I will see more of the flowers next week.

Monday, March 8 - Sunday, March 14

I was able to dedicate around eighteen hours to stitching this week. There's still more work to do on the skirt, but I am confident it will turn out beautifully once completed. The poppies are gradually starting to bloom, and I can envision them dancing in the soft spring breeze. With the first day of spring approaching next week, I am optimistic that the poppies will be in full bloom by then. SPRING – truly a delightful time of year.

Monday, March 15 - Sunday, March 21

Stitching and unstitching my work has occupied my time this week. My counting appears to be off, particularly with the poppies on the left side. I will need to take out some of the stitches. I’m hopeful that I will make more progress next week.

Monday, March 22 - Sunday, March 28

I have gotten back on track with my counting and resumed my stitching project. I successfully added stems to the poppies using a simple stem stitch, and I also completed the backstitching on the umbrella. Occasionally, I do the backstitching as I progress. To stay organized, I meticulously mark my chart to indicate where I left off with the backstitching.
